The SuperSport's design is unmistakably Ducati?sleek, aggressive, and unmistakably Italian. The full fairing looks sharp, and the sharp lines of the bodywork give the bike an athletic appearance. But unlike some of Ducati's other offerings, the SuperSport doesn't go overboard with sharp angles or excessive aggression. The more relaxed riding position is evident, with handlebars set in a slightly higher position than you?d find on a pure sportbike, which makes the SuperSport a more comfortable option for those looking to mix in some longer distance touring. The seat is reasonably comfortable for a sportbike, though not as plush as you?d find on a dedicated touring bike. It can be a bit stiff on longer rides, especially when compared to other models that are more oriented toward comfort. That said, it's definitely tolerable for weekend rides or a day at the track. The ergonomics of the SuperSport are designed to provide a sporty feel while not punishing your back or wrists. It?s a nice middle ground?aggressive enough to keep you engaged on spirited rides, but not so aggressive that you?ll need to stretch after a couple of hours in the saddle. At the heart of the 2018 Ducati SuperSport Base is the 937cc Testastretta 11° V-twin engine, which delivers 113 horsepower and 71 lb-ft of torque. This engine is a well-rounded performer, offering plenty of grunt for spirited street riding while maintaining manageable power levels for more relaxed cruising.
